HR Development Centre

Mode of Application 

The HRDC advertises vocational intakes every year during October/November in the local print media. Prospective vocational trainees are expected to apply by means of an application letter with attachments of certified copies of documents of qualifications and citizenship. The HRDC does not issue application forms. 

Selection 

Short-listed applicants undergo an aptitude test. Placement is, inter alia, done on the basis of the outcome of the aptitude test.

Registration 
Selected trainees are required to pay a deposit upon registration. Failure to pay the deposit compromises ones place at the HRDC.

Skills Upgrading Training

The HRDC provides skills upgrading training to employees who have relevant vocational skills but lack the necessary papers to be appointed as artisans. Skills upgrading training is provided in the trades of water care, plumbing & pipefitting, auto/diesel mechanic, electrician general, and carpentry and joinery.

The HRDC currently positions itself to provide short courses in the near future for industry on: 

  • Various Microsoft Applications.
  • Frontline Skills and Etiquette.
  • Supervisory Skills
  • Any other business management skills training as dictated by clients.
